The service, in plain English

Fascia & soffit cleaning,
done properly —
end to end.

No jargon, no upsell. Just what you're actually buying, when it's worth doing, and why a professional makes the difference.

What it is

Specialist exterior cleaning of UPVC fascia boards and soffits — the white roofline plastics that frame your roof. Cleaned with a soft-bristle reach-and-pole brush, tailored cleaning solution, and a controlled rinse that lifts the algae, grime and light oxidation without damaging the plastic.

Who it's for

Homeowners across Fareham, Gosport, Portchester, Whiteley, Stubbington, Paulsgrove, Cosham, Havant and Leigh Park whose roofline has gone grey, green or streaky — particularly properties on busy roads, near the coast, or under tree cover.

When you need it

Most homes benefit every 2–3 years. Pre-sale, post-build and post-roofing-work are common triggers. Best done alongside gutter cleaning so the whole roofline is refreshed in one visit.

Why professional matters

The roofline frames everything else. Cleaning the fascia and soffit is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost visual upgrades you can make to a tired-looking property — bigger than painting the door, smaller than replacing the windows.

What happens if you leave it

Small problem now.
Expensive problem later.

Grey, dull fascia line

White UPVC oxidises and collects atmospheric grime. From the road it reads as 'old house' even when the rest of the property is well-kept.

Green algae on soffits

North-facing and shaded soffits go green with algae fast. The growth holds moisture against the plastic and the fixings behind it.

Ladder marks on render

DIY ladder cleaning leaves rubber scuffs and white scrape marks on render — and risks far worse if the ladder slips on guttering.

Damage from aggressive washing

Hot or high-pressure washing pits and dulls UPVC permanently. The plastic can't be 'un-dulled' once it's been etched.

How the job runs

A clear, repeatable
5-step process.

  1. 01

    Photo quote

Send a couple of photos of the elevations you want cleaned along with your postcode. Same-day written price in most cases.

  2. 02

    Mask & protect

Plants, windows and entrances protected before work starts. Path and driveway pre-wetted to prevent run-off staining.

  3. 03

    Apply specialist cleaner

Tailored cleaner applied to fascia and soffit faces from a reach-and-pole brush head — given the dwell time it needs.

  4. 04

    Soft-brush agitate + rinse

Surface agitated with a soft-bristle brush to lift the staining. Whole roofline rinsed at controlled flow until the water runs clear.

  5. 05

    Final inspection

Walk-around together. Any spot that hasn't lifted is re-done on the visit; the free re-clean promise applies if anything needs attention afterwards.

What you actually get

Concrete outcomes.
No fluffy promises.

Whole roofline lifted

Cleaning the fascia and soffit lifts the entire roofline — the visual frame around your windows, render and brickwork.

No ladder damage

Reach-and-pole keeps ladders off your gutters and render. No scuff marks, no dropped brackets, no chipped paint.

Safe for UPVC

Specialist soft cleaning won't dull or pit the plastic the way hot water and high-pressure washing will.

Pairs with gutter cleaning

Booked together, the gutters and roofline are both refreshed in a single visit — priced more keenly than two separate trips.

Big pre-sale uplift

Estate agents flag dirty rooflines because buyers do. Cleaning them is one of the cheapest pre-marketing improvements you can make.

Insurance-backed

Fully covered under £1,000,000 public liability with Simply Business — including incidental damage during the clean.

Method, materials & detail

The proper standard —
explained.

Fascia and soffit cleaning is its own discipline — different chemistry, different reach, different finish standard than washing windows. Here's how it's delivered properly.

What gets cleaned

Fascia boards (the vertical white plastic at the gutter line), soffits (the horizontal underside), bargeboards on gable ends, and the trims and corner caps. The faces of the gutters themselves are a separate service (exterior gutter cleaning) and commonly booked together.

Why specialist cleaner, not jet-wash

Aggressive washing dulls and pits UPVC. A tailored low-pressure cleaning solution with adequate dwell time lifts the staining without damaging the surface — and looks visibly better at the end.

Reach-and-pole, ground-based

Reach-and-pole equipment reaches the full roofline of a standard residential property safely from the ground. No ladders leaned against fascias or render.

Light oxidation vs deep oxidation

Light surface oxidation lifts beautifully with soft cleaning. Deep, decades-old oxidation may need a UPVC restoration treatment (different process, quoted separately). You'll be told straight if your roofline falls into the second category — not promised the impossible.

Residential vs commercial

Same equipment and chemistry for both; commercial roofline cleans get RAMS, method statements and out-of-hours scheduling where access requires.
